Most of the time, I often enjoy reading people's thoughts online. At other times, when I need a good laugh, the internet is as well your go-to arena, there are lies, and there are the truths, but how do we filter through the debris to get to the diamond which the internet possesses?
The internet could sometimes be a journey, a path that leads to so many other paths, one that with careful and concise maneuver, you will hit gold!
When I began to explore the internet, it wasn’t with a solid goal, however, the internet answered a question which led to others. Before the inception of the internet, we have always had the Quran and the Bible. Both of which were available in our individual homes, everywhere, apart from reading it occasionally at church or mosques, we have no idea what the full contents were. I remember telling a Muslim cleric that “a particular something” is written in the bible, he was like.....no way!
The same way a Christian will openly admit that he or she has no idea what is written in Quran (That is understandable, until recently,) as the Quran is written in Arabic language, thank God for the internet, availability of both materials is now with the general populace.
The Quran is a revered book, one which the Muslim population hold with such regard as well as the Bible but how credible are these 2 texts?
How do we trust their credibility!
What makes them sacred?
Should we "just" believe that they are because we have told to or should say "conditioned" to?
First, let’s establish on a “lay man”, from a lay man’s perspective without going too deeply.
The bible has been around for about 3400 years, around 1400 BC according to this website (www.christianity.org.uk\article\the-history-of-the-bible), if you may. As a student of history, please, refer to the story of King Henry viii and King James 1. Without the internet, I do not think any of us has a fore-knowledge as to when the Bible came into being.
Another question is, why is there so many translations of the bible?
(The English language bible has different variations) some of which a preacher would need different variations to send a message across even in the same language?
….to be continued.
